EMMA WATSON IS the latest female celebrity to be targeted by hackers after her personal photos were allegedly leaked online.

Buzzfeed reports that ‘hundreds’ of photos of several actresses, including Watson and Amanda Seyfried, began circulating on Reddit and 4chan late last night.

The users are suggesting that more personal photos will be posted over the next few days.

This echos the 2014 hacking of celebrity iCloud accounts – in January, a man was jailed for nine months for stealing the photos of Jennifer Lawrence and model Kate Upton, amongst others.

A representative for Watson has confirmed to the BBC that the leaked photos are of the actress. (And here’s why you shouldn’t go looking for them.)

Photos from a clothes fitting Emma had with a stylist a couple of years ago have been stolen. They are not nude photographs. Lawyers have been instructed and we are not commenting further.

Watson was previously threatened with a leak of nude photos in 2014 after she made a speech about gender equality at the UN.

The leak turned out to be a hoax, and the actress later said she knew that would be the case:

I knew the pictures didn’t exist. The minute I stepped up and talked about women’s rights I was immediately threatened – within less than 12 hours I was receiving threats.
